Many people have questions about spiritualism and what it is that spiritualists do. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

Can Mediums call up the dead?
Absolutely not! Mediums can only contact the Spirit friends who choose to come to talk to us, we cannot demand communication with anyone in the spirit world.
Do spiritualists dabble in things that should be left alone?
Spiritualists do not dabble in anything. We worship God, we love mankind and we know that life is eternal.
Why do Spirits hang around the earth?
Our loved ones in Spirit do not hang around; they come to visit us to see what we are doing and to send us their love and encouragement, just as they did when they lived upon the earth.
If they are really there why can't we all see or feel Spirits?
Everyone has the ability to sense Spirit but most do not choose to develop that gift or even acknowledge it exists. It is similar to playing the piano, everyone can manage chopsticks but only a few choose to work at the gift and become a concert pianist.
Is it true Spiritualists use Ouija Boards?
No, this is a fallacy fabricated by the media. Ouija boards are never used in our churches, and as the name suggests (""oui " ~ yes, "ja" ~ yes) the board can only give "yes " or "no" answers or spell out words letter by letter. What a slow, painful means of communication. Instead see a Medium and receive a message in full sentences!
Do Spiritualists sit in the dark, holding hands asking, "Is there anybody there? "
This is an image conjured up by Hollywood. Nothing could be further from the truth, our services and evenings of clairvoyance are conducted in well lit rooms and churches, with people sitting in rows. Real Spiritualists do it with the lights on!
Am I schizophrenic? I'm hearing voices and seeing things in my house and I'm scared I'm going mad?
Talk to your local Church, each person has to be considered individually. As a general rule of thumb if the voices are giving you messages of love and light it is most probably a spirit guide or loved one communicating with you. If the voices tell you to hurt yourself or someone else or are negative in any way, the messages are not coming from Spirit. BUT either way please contact your local Church or development group for help and advice.
I am naturally psychic and hear and see Spirit. How do I turn it off?
Natural mediums are not trained in how to open themselves to the vibrations from the Spirit World they open themselves subconsciously nor do they know how to close down or 'turn it off'. Please visit your local Church or Group and ask them to teach you how to close down. Mediumship comes in many forms and each person requires assistance in how to use their gift.
I am receiving medication from my doctor for depression can the Church help me?
Spiritual healing is available in most of our Churches and Groups; it heals our minds, bodies and Spirit. Try it and see how you feel afterwards.
